Nycomed is recognised for providing exceptional workplace for employees
OAKVILLE , ON – October 2, 2008 – Today, Nycomed Canada has been recognised as Top 100 Employer in Canada. This is the fifth consecutive year Nycomed Canada has received the award for consistently performing to the highest of standards for attracting and retaining employees.
This year, the judges for Canada’s Top 100 Employers reviewed the recruitment histories of more than 71,000 Canadian businesses and invited approximately one-third of these to apply.
“The health and pharmaceutical industry has undergone significant changes over recent years; continuing to evolve at unprecedented rates and demanding that businesses adapt and keep pace in a fast market ,” said John Suk, CEO of Nycomed Canada.
“This has in turn placed a great deal of pressure on our employees to perform in more dynamic and creative ways than ever before. At Nycomed, we encourage an open, transparent environment where ideas can be shared and going-the-extra-mile is rewarded. Being named ‘Top Employer’ is a great honour as it credits our exceptional teams and leaders who encourage this culture to thrive.”
When asked what it was like to work at Nycomed, employee Tammy Mitchell, Project Manager, Regulatory Affairs said, “The company is very good at embracing change, allowing everyone to be innovative in their approach to work, providing the right balance of challenge and support, and recognizing efforts. The values of motivation, courage, empathy, and trust are lived on a daily basis.”
Recipients of the award were measured on a variety of criteria such as: physical workplace; work atmosphere; health, financial and family benefits; vacation; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.
The winners of the Top 100 Employer in Canada were announced in a special issue of MacLean’s magazine on news-stands 2nd October.
