NYCOMED CANADA NAMED ‘TOP 100 EMPLOYER’ IN COUNTRY FOR FOURTH CONSECUTIVE YEAR

OAKVILLE , ON – October 10, 2007 – Nycomed Canada has been recognised as Top 100 Employer in Canada. This is the fourth consecutive year Nycomed Canada has received the award for consistently performing to the highest of standards for attracting and retaining employees.

This year, the judges for Canada’s Top 100 Employers reviewed over 1,800 Canadian business submissions from the public and private sector.

“As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, Nycomed Canada continues to be committed to improving the quality of patients’ lives throughout the country,” said John Suk, President and CEO of Nycomed in Canada. “To achieve this goal, we constantly strive to attract and retain the best people and that’s what makes us a leader in the pharmaceutical industry. Being named ‘Top Employer’ is a huge honour and I credit this achievement to our exceptional teams.”

Nycomed employees were asked to contribute feedback and testimonials to complete the judging process. Beverlee Searle, Manager, Market Intelligence at Nycomed Canada said she and other employees appreciate the career development opportunities provided by the company, the work-life balance that is encouraged, and the collaborative working environment.

Recipients of the award were measured on a variety of criteria such as: physical workplace; work atmosphere; health, financial and family benefits; vacation; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.

The winners of the Top 100 Employer in Canada were announced in a special issue of Maclean’s magazine (issue date October 15, 2007).

About Canada’s Top 100 Employers

Now entering its 8th year, the Canada's Top 100 Employers project is a national competition to determine which employers lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces for their employees.
